What to do

AI-suggested

A fix has been implemented in the Linux kernel to add a check preventing the double addition of the interface to the list. Users should update to the fixed kernel version once available. Since this is a kernel-level issue, applying the official kernel patch or upgrading to a kernel version that includes this fix is the recommended mitigation.

Description

CVE-2024-49939 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's rtw89 Wi-Fi driver where an interface can be added twice to a list during the WoWLAN resume flow if a SER L2 event occurs. This double addition causes a kernel panic due to list corruption. The issue arises because the add interface flow is triggered twice after a failure in rtw89_wow_resume(), leading to a kernel crash.
