What to do

AI-suggested

A fix is available that sets the IRQF_NO_SUSPEND flag for the BCM2835 mailbox IRQ to keep it enabled during suspend-resume cycles. Users should update to a Linux kernel version that includes this fix. No other mitigation steps are indicated.

Description

CVE-2024-49963 addresses a timeout issue in the Raspberry Pi power driver within the Linux kernel during the noirq suspend phase. The underlying BCM2835 mailbox IRQ is disabled during suspend, causing firmware property calls to timeout. The fix involves setting the IRQF_NO_SUSPEND flag to keep the mailbox IRQ enabled during suspend-resume cycles, preventing these timeouts.
