AI-suggested
A patch is available and has been released in multiple Linux kernel 5.15 versions including 5.15.0-1073.79 and later. Users and administrators should update affected Linux kernel versions to these fixed releases to remediate the vulnerability. No additional mitigation actions are required beyond applying the official kernel updates.
Description
A null pointer dereference vulnerability was identified and fixed in the Linux kernel's RDMA RTRS server path establishment process. The flaw occurs during the exchange of connection information between RTRS client and server, where missing sanity checks could lead to a null pointer dereference. This issue affects multiple Linux kernel versions prior to 5.15.0-1073.79 and related builds. The vulnerability has been patched in several 5.15 kernel releases. Exploitation could cause a denial of service by crashing the kernel. No known exploits in the wild have been reported.
