What to do

AI-suggested

A fix for this vulnerability is available in the Linux kernel. Users should update to a kernel version that includes this patch. Since no vendor advisory or fixed versions are explicitly provided, check the Linux kernel changelogs or vendor updates for the patched kernel version. Until patched, avoid disabling debugfs if possible or restrict untrusted local access to prevent triggering the issue.

Description

CVE-2024-50077 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's Bluetooth ISO subsystem where an improper initialization sequence occurs if debugfs is disabled. This leads to duplicate initialization calls causing a kernel BUG and system crash. The issue arises because iso_init() returns early without setting a flag, allowing repeated initialization attempts that trigger a double list addition error and kernel panic.
