Description

CVE-2024-50096 is a medium severity vulnerability in the Linux kernel's nouveau driver related to memory migration to RAM. The flaw occurs because the function nouveau_dmem_copy_one does not verify successful execution of a copy push command to device firmware, potentially returning a dirty HIGH_USER page containing sensitive or corrupted data to the user. The issue is addressed by allocating a zero page on error, ensuring a non-dirty page is returned instead.
