What to do

AI-suggested

A fix has been applied in the Linux kernel source code (commit c9b7c809b89f24e9372a4e7f02d64c950b07fdee). Users and administrators should update their Linux kernel to a version that includes this patch to remediate the vulnerability. No other specific mitigations are indicated.

Description

CVE-2024-50117 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's AMD GPU driver where bad data from the BIOS in response to an ATIF ACPI method call can cause a NULL pointer dereference. This results in a denial of service via a kernel crash. The issue has been fixed in the Linux kernel source.
