What to do
AI-suggested
A fix is available that correctly initializes the command bitmask for the MANAGE_PAGES command. Users should update to the fixed Linux kernel version containing this patch. No additional mitigation steps are required beyond applying the official fix.
Description
CVE-2024-50147 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's mlx5 driver where a command bitmask for the MANAGE_PAGES command is not properly initialized. This can lead to a null pointer dereference error if a health error occurs before any MANAGE_PAGES command is invoked, causing a kernel crash. The issue has been fixed by correctly initializing the command bitmask and rewriting the code for clarity.
