What to do

AI-suggested

A fix has been implemented in the Linux kernel to address this issue by ensuring synchronous DA_ID completion before NPIV instance deletion. Users should apply the official kernel updates containing this fix once available. No other mitigation steps are indicated.

Description

A medium-severity vulnerability in the Linux kernel's SCSI lpfc driver involves improper handling of DA_ID completion before deleting an NPIV instance. This flaw can cause race conditions due to kref imbalances when fabric ndlps are not fully released prior to resource teardown. The issue has been fixed by enforcing synchronous completion of DA_ID using a wait queue.
