AI-suggested
To mitigate CVE-2024-51223, organizations should implement strict input validation on the Mobile Number parameter to allow only valid numeric characters and reject any input containing script or HTML tags. Employ context-sensitive output encoding or escaping when rendering user-supplied data in web pages to prevent script execution. Use security headers such as Content Security Policy (CSP) to restrict the execution of unauthorized scripts. Regularly audit and review code for injection vulnerabilities, especially in administrative interfaces. Monitor logs for unusual input patterns or repeated failed attempts to inject scripts. If possible, restrict access to the /admin/profile.php page to trusted IP addresses or via VPN to reduce exposure. Stay alert for official patches or updates from the vendor and apply them promptly once available. Consider deploying web application firewalls (WAFs) with rules to detect and block XSS payloads targeting this parameter. Conduct security awareness training for administrators to recognize suspicious behavior or unexpected page content.
Description
A stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the component /admin/profile.php of Phpgurukul Vehicle Record Management System v1.0 allows attackers to execute arbitrary web scripts or HTML via injecting a crafted payload into the Mobile Number parameter.
