A fix for this issue is available in the Linux kernel. Users should update to the fixed kernel versions where this patch is applied. No additional mitigation is required beyond applying the official fix.
Description
CVE-2024-53128 addresses a flaw in the Linux kernel's object_is_on_stack() function when CONFIG_KASAN_SW_TAGS and CONFIG_KASAN_STACK are enabled. The function may incorrectly detect stack objects due to tagged pointers, leading to warnings if CONFIG_DEBUG_OBJECTS is also enabled. This issue has been fixed in the Linux kernel.
