A fix for this issue has been applied in the Linux kernel. Users should update to a kernel version that includes this fix to prevent the qp flush warnings and improve system stability. Since this is a kernel-level fix, applying the official kernel update is the recommended remediation.
Description
CVE-2024-53229 addresses a flaw in the Linux kernel's RDMA rxe driver where Work Queue Elements (WQEs) in a queue were not properly marked as error when the Queue Pair (qp) entered an error state. This caused kernel warning messages related to qp flush warnings. The issue has been fixed to correctly set the status of WQEs to error in such cases, preventing these warnings.
