What to do

AI-suggested

A fix for this vulnerability has been implemented in the Linux kernel. Users should apply the official kernel updates that include this fix to prevent crashes related to netfront device removal after suspend/resume cycles. Patch status is not explicitly stated in the input, so users should consult the Linux kernel vendor advisory or distribution updates for the fixed version.

Description

CVE-2024-53240 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's xen/netfront driver that causes a crash when removing a netfront device immediately after a suspend/resume cycle. The crash occurs because the device queues may not be reinitialized before being stopped again. The issue has been fixed by adding a check to ensure queues exist before stopping them.
