What to do

AI-suggested

To mitigate CVE-2024-54923, organizations should immediately implement input validation and parameterized queries (prepared statements) in the /admin/edit_teacher.php script to prevent SQL injection. If source code modification is not immediately feasible, deploying a Web Application Firewall (WAF) with rules to detect and block SQL injection attempts targeting the 'department' parameter can provide temporary protection. Conduct a thorough security audit of the entire application to identify and remediate similar injection flaws. Regularly update and patch the Kashipara E-learning Management System once official fixes are released. Additionally, restrict access to the admin interface by IP whitelisting or VPN to reduce exposure. Monitor database logs for unusual queries indicative of exploitation attempts. Finally, educate developers on secure coding practices to prevent recurrence of injection vulnerabilities.

Description

A SQL Injection vulnerability was found in /admin/edit_teacher.php in kashipara E-learning Management System v1.0, which allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands to get unauthorized database access via the department parameter.
