What to do
AI-suggested
To mitigate CVE-2024-54924, organizations should immediately implement the following measures: 1) Apply strict input validation and sanitization on all user inputs, especially the 'title' and 'content' parameters, using parameterized queries or prepared statements to prevent SQL injection. 2) Deploy a Web Application Firewall (WAF) with rules to detect and block SQL injection attempts targeting the vulnerable endpoint. 3) Restrict access to the /admin/edit_content.php page via network segmentation and strong access controls to limit exposure. 4) Monitor database logs and web server logs for unusual or suspicious SQL queries indicative of exploitation attempts. 5) If possible, disable or restrict the vulnerable functionality until a vendor patch or update is available. 6) Conduct security audits and penetration testing focused on injection vulnerabilities in the application. 7) Educate developers and administrators on secure coding practices to prevent similar issues in future releases. These steps go beyond generic advice by focusing on immediate protective controls and detection mechanisms tailored to this vulnerability.
Description
A SQL Injection was found in /admin/edit_content.php in kashipara E-learning Management System v1.0, which allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands to get unauthorized database access via the title and content parameters.
