What to do

AI-suggested

To mitigate CVE-2024-54926, organizations should immediately implement strict input validation and sanitization on the school_year parameter and any other user-supplied inputs. Employ parameterized queries or prepared statements to prevent SQL injection attacks. Restrict database user permissions to the minimum necessary to limit the impact of a potential breach. Monitor database and application logs for suspicious query patterns indicative of injection attempts. If possible, isolate the vulnerable application in a segmented network zone to reduce exposure. Since no official patches are currently available, consider deploying web application firewalls (WAFs) with custom rules to detect and block SQL injection payloads targeting the affected endpoint. Additionally, conduct thorough security assessments of the entire e-learning platform to identify and remediate similar vulnerabilities. Educate developers on secure coding practices to prevent future injection flaws.

Description

A SQL Injection vulnerability was found in /search_class.php of kashipara E-learning Management System v1.0, which allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands to get unauthorized database access via the school_year parameter.
