What to do

AI-suggested

A fix for this vulnerability has been implemented in the Linux kernel. Users and administrators should apply the official Linux kernel updates that include this fix to remediate the issue. Since this is a kernel-level vulnerability, updating to the patched kernel version is the recommended mitigation.

Description

CVE-2024-56567 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's ad7780 driver where a division by zero error can occur in the ad7780_write_raw() function. This happens because the val2 parameter can be zero, leading to a division by zero in the DIV_ROUND_CLOSEST() macro. The issue has been identified and resolved in the Linux kernel.
