What to do

AI-suggested

A fix has been implemented that disables NUMA optimization for PREEMPT_RT kernels, preventing sleeping in atomic context errors. Users should update to kernel versions including this fix.

Description

CVE-2024-56585 addresses a Linux kernel vulnerability specific to the LoongArch architecture with PREEMPT_RT enabled. The issue involves a 'sleeping in atomic context' error caused by the use of rt_spin_lock() in PREEMPT_RT kernels, which replaces normal spinlocks with real-time spinlocks that may sleep. This can lead to kernel BUGs during early CPU initialization. The fix disables NUMA optimization for PREEMPT_RT kernels to prevent sleeping in atomic context.
