What to do

AI-suggested

A fix has been implemented in the Linux kernel to add proper error checking in the ahash_hmac_init function. Users should update to the fixed kernel versions once available.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel crypto bcm subsystem was fixed by adding an error check in the ahash_hmac_init function. Previously, ahash_hmac_init could incorrectly return success even when the underlying ahash_init function failed, such as when memory allocation failed (-ENOMEM). This flaw could lead to improper handling of error conditions during cryptographic initialization.
