Until a fix is applied, avoid exposing vulnerable kernel versions to untrusted USB devices or environments where malicious USB gadget interactions are possible.
Description
CVE-2024-56698 is a medium severity vulnerability in the Linux kernel's USB dwc3 gadget driver. It involves incorrect handling of scatter-gather (SG) entries in queued requests, which can lead to a null pointer dereference. This occurs because the count of queued SG entries is not properly maintained when partially completed requests are processed, potentially causing the system to access non-existent SG entries and crash.
