A fix has been implemented in the Linux kernel to zero-initialize the local data structure before populating it with active channel data, preventing uninitialized memory from being leaked. Users should apply the official Linux kernel updates that include this patch to remediate the vulnerability.
Description
CVE-2024-57907 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's rockchip_saradc ADC driver where uninitialized data from inactive channels could be leaked to userspace. This occurs because the local data structure used to push data to userspace is not zero-initialized before being populated only with active channel values. The flaw has been fixed by initializing the structure to zero to prevent leaking uninitialized memory contents.
