Users should monitor the vendor's advisory channels for updates. Until a fix is released, restrict access to the scan engine configuration interface to trusted users only and consider disabling or limiting the use of the nmap_cmd parameter if possible.

Description

reNgine version 2.2.0 contains a command injection vulnerability in the nmap_cmd parameter of its scan engine configuration. Authenticated attackers can exploit this flaw by injecting malicious base64-encoded payloads, leading to arbitrary command execution on the affected system. This vulnerability allows remote code execution during scan engine configuration.
