Technical Analysis

The SendGrid for WordPress plugin suffers from a missing capability check (CWE-862) in the 'wp_mailplus_clear_logs' function in all versions up to 1.4. This allows any authenticated user with at least Subscriber privileges to delete the plugin's log files, resulting in unauthorized loss of data. The CVSS 3.1 base score is 4.3 (medium), reflecting low impact on confidentiality and availability but limited impact on integrity due to log deletion. No patch or official fix is currently documented.

Potential Impact

The vulnerability permits authenticated users with Subscriber-level access or higher to delete SendGrid plugin log files without authorization. This can hinder forensic investigations or auditing by removing historical log data. There is no direct impact on system confidentiality or availability reported. No known active exploitation has been observed.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict Subscriber-level access to trusted users only to reduce risk. Monitor for updates from the plugin vendor or WordPress security advisories regarding a patch or official mitigation.
