What to do
AI-suggested
The vulnerability has been resolved in the Linux kernel. Users should apply the official kernel updates that include the fix for CVE-2025-21660. No additional mitigation steps are indicated.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's ksmbd component was fixed where the function ksmbd_vfs_kern_path_locked could leave a changed path buffer in an inconsistent state if an error occurred before processing the last entry. This could result in the buffer being incorrectly used as a filename for creation later.
