What to do
AI-suggested
A fix is available as this issue has been resolved in the Linux kernel by properly checking that IRQ values are greater than zero before freeing them. Users should update to the fixed kernel version containing this patch. No additional mitigations are specified.
Description
CVE-2025-21799 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's TI AM65 CPSW Ethernet driver related to improper handling of IRQ freeing in the function am65_cpsw_nuss_remove_tx_chns(). The issue arises when an invalid IRQ value (negative) is freed due to insufficient validation after a failure in k3_udma_glue_tx_get_irq(). This can lead to kernel warnings during runtime when the .set_channels operation is invoked with increasing channel counts.
