AI-suggested
A patch is available and fixed versions include Linux kernel releases 6.8.0-1041.43~22.04.1 and later variants as listed. Users should update to these fixed kernel versions to remediate the issue. No additional mitigation is required beyond applying the official fix.
Description
CVE-2025-22065 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's idpf driver that causes a NULL pointer dereference on system reboot when SRIOV is enabled. The issue arises because idpf_remove() is called twice during shutdown, leading to a NULL pointer dereference and a kernel crash (BUG). The fix replaces the direct call to idpf_remove() in idpf_shutdown() with safer cleanup functions to avoid double removal and NULL dereference.
