What to do

A fix has been implemented in the Linux kernel to address this issue by adjusting the page and trimming the offset to prevent overflow. Users should apply the official kernel update that includes this fix. No other mitigation steps are indicated.

Description

CVE-2025-22122 is a medium severity vulnerability in the Linux kernel related to the block layer's handling of folios in bio structures. On some architectures like aarch64 with large hugepages (e.g., 16GB), the offset of a folio can exceed the capacity of an unsigned int, causing warnings and IO failures. The issue is fixed by adjusting the page and trimming the offset to prevent overflow in the bi_offset field, allowing folios to be added to bio successfully.
