A fix is available that changes the reset mechanism to use the VF_RESET action instead of writing to the inaccessible register. Users should apply the updated Linux kernel version containing this fix. No other mitigation is indicated.
Description
CVE-2025-23162 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's drm/xe/vf driver where a virtual function (VF) attempts to trigger a full graphics technology (GT) reset by writing to an inaccessible register. This leads to a kernel warning and potential instability. The issue is fixed by changing the reset method to send a VF_RESET action instead of accessing the restricted register.
