Technical Analysis

This vulnerability (CVE-2025-29938) arises from an unchecked return value within the AMD Platform Management Framework on AMD Ryzen™ 7035 Series Processors with Radeon™ Graphics. The unchecked return value can be exploited by an attacker with local access and low privileges to perform arbitrary memory writes, which may lead to denial of service or arbitrary code execution. The CVSS 4.0 base score is 7.1, reflecting high severity with attack vector local, low attack complexity, and partial privileges required. No patch or official remediation guidance has been provided by AMD as of the publication date.

Potential Impact

An attacker with local, low-privilege access could exploit this vulnerability to write to arbitrary memory addresses. This could result in denial of service conditions or allow execution of arbitrary code, potentially compromising system integrity and availability. No known exploits have been reported in the wild.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Since no official fix or remediation level has been published by AMD, users should monitor AMD advisories for updates. Until a patch is available, limit local access to trusted users and apply standard privilege restrictions to reduce risk.
