Technical Analysis

CVE-2025-30045 is a CWE-94 code injection vulnerability in CGM CLININET's ConvExpr function. The function improperly controls the generation and evaluation of code from Perl expressions embedded in RTF document content. An attacker with authentication and high privileges can exploit this to execute arbitrary code with root-level privileges. The vulnerability affects versions up to 2026.MS3. The product is cloud-hosted, and a patch is available.

Potential Impact

An authenticated attacker with high privileges can execute arbitrary code as root, potentially leading to full system compromise. The vulnerability impacts confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the affected system. No known exploits are reported in the wild at this time.

Mitigation Recommendations

A patch is available for this vulnerability. Since CGM CLININET is a cloud service, the vendor manages remediation server-side. Users should verify with the vendor that their instance is updated to a patched version beyond 2026.MS3 or that the vendor has applied the fix.
