Technical Analysis

IBM Db2 versions 11.5.0 through 11.5.9 and 12.1.0 through 12.1.4 contain a vulnerability classified as CWE-538, where sensitive information is inserted into monitoring and event tables accessible to authenticated users. This could lead to unauthorized disclosure of sensitive data. The CVSS 3.1 base score is 5.5, reflecting a medium severity with local attack vector, low complexity, and requiring low privileges. There is no indication of an official fix or vendor advisory specifying remediation at this time.

Potential Impact

An authenticated user with low privileges could access sensitive information from monitoring and event tables in affected IBM Db2 versions. This impacts confidentiality but does not affect integrity or availability. There are no known exploits in the wild currently.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is released, limit access to authenticated users and monitor for unauthorized access to monitoring and event tables. Follow IBM's official communications for updates on remediation.
