What to do

AI-suggested

Until a fix is applied, avoid mounting or using JFS filesystems that may contain unsupported inode types.

Description

CVE-2025-37925 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's JFS filesystem driver where on-disk inodes of unsupported types are not properly rejected. This can cause a kernel BUG and system crash when the function clear_inode() attempts to finalize a JFS inode of an unknown type. The issue arises because inode types 5 to 15 are reserved and should not appear on a valid filesystem, but the kernel did not previously check for this condition.
