AI-suggested

A patch is available and should be applied. The vendor advisory from Ubuntu confirms that this issue is fixed in updated Linux kernel packages. Users should update their Linux kernel to the fixed versions and reboot to apply the changes. No additional mitigations are required beyond applying the official fix.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's bpf_redirect_peer function allowed packet metadata (skb extensions) to be preserved across network namespace boundaries without proper scrubbing. This could cause packet information from one namespace to be misused in another, leading to unexpected packet drops, such as in containerized environments using IPsec. The issue has been resolved by scrubbing packets during redirection to another network namespace, except for skb->mark and skb->tstamp fields.
