A patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions to resolve this issue. Refer to the vendor advisory and patchwork link for the specific fix. Systems running affected versions should upgrade to patched versions to mitigate the vulnerability.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's drm/msm/a7xx driver was resolved by ensuring the CP_RESET_CONTEXT_STATE packet is called when switching contexts. Without this reset, persistent state used by userspace to synchronize between BR and BV could cause another context to malfunction and hang, resulting in a denial of service. This issue does not leak data. The vulnerability affects multiple specific Linux kernel versions and has a medium severity rating with a CVSS score of 5.5. A patch is available to address this issue.
