A patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions. The vendor advisory from Ubuntu confirms that this issue has been fixed. Systems running affected versions should update to the patched kernel releases to prevent crashes caused by this vulnerability.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's mlx5e network driver was resolved that could cause a kernel crash due to improper handling of the skb secpath extension when the xfrm state is not found after hardware decryption. This flaw leads to a page fault in kernel mode, resulting in a denial of service. The issue was fixed by removing the secpath extension if the xfrm state is missing, preventing invalid memory access.
