A fix is available and has been applied in the Linux kernel. Users and administrators should update to the fixed kernel versions identified by the provided commit hashes to remediate this vulnerability.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's ALSA usb-audio driver related to UAC3 power domain descriptors has been fixed. The issue involved insufficient validation of the variable bLength in UAC3 power domain descriptors, which could lead to out-of-bounds (OOB) memory accesses caused by malicious firmware. This flaw has been addressed by adding proper validation to prevent such unexpected accesses.
