AI-suggested

Red Hat has rated this vulnerability as moderate severity and notes that the impact is limited due to the minimal amount of data read out-of-bounds. There is no explicit mention of an available patch or fix in the advisory. Until a fix is available, no specific mitigation is provided by the vendor. Users should monitor Red Hat's official channels for patch releases and apply them promptly once available.

Description

CVE-2025-4969 is a medium severity vulnerability in the libsoup package caused by improper verification of multipart HTTP message termination. This flaw allows a remote attacker to send a specially crafted multipart HTTP body that triggers an out-of-bounds read beyond allocated memory. The amount of data read improperly is minimal (one byte), limiting the potential for meaningful data leakage. The vulnerability could also cause a denial of service via application crash. No known exploits are reported in the wild, and no official patch information is provided in the advisory.
