What to do
AI-suggested
1. Immediate mitigation should include restricting access to the EHCP control panel to trusted users and networks, employing strong authentication mechanisms such as multi-factor authentication (MFA) to reduce the risk of credential compromise. 2. Implement web application firewalls (WAFs) with rules to detect and block reflected XSS payloads targeting the 'ftpusername' parameter. 3. Sanitize and validate all user inputs rigorously on the server side, ensuring that special characters are properly escaped or removed before rendering in the web interface. 4. Monitor logs for unusual activity related to the FTP user listing function, especially requests containing suspicious script tags or encoded payloads. 5. 6. Stay updated with EHCP vendor announcements for patches or updates addressing this vulnerability and apply them promptly once released. 7. Conduct security awareness training for users with access to the control panel to recognize phishing attempts that could lead to credential theft.
