Description
CVE-2025-52555 is a privilege escalation vulnerability in Ceph, a distributed storage platform. In affected versions, an unprivileged user can escalate to root privileges on a ceph-fuse mounted CephFS by changing permissions (chmod 777) on a root-owned directory. This allows the user to read, write, and execute files in that directory, impacting confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The issue is fixed in versions 17.2.8, 18.2.5, and 19.2.3.
