What to do

AI-suggested

  1. Immediately restrict access to the management interfaces of Ruijie RG-BCR600W devices to trusted networks and IP addresses using firewall rules or access control lists.
  2. Implement network segmentation to isolate vulnerable devices from critical systems and sensitive data repositories.
  3. Monitor network traffic for anomalous POST requests targeting the submit_wifi endpoint, employing intrusion detection/prevention systems with custom signatures.
  4. Disable or limit the use of the vulnerable quick configuration feature if possible until a patch is available.
  5. Engage with Ruijie support channels to obtain official patches or firmware updates as soon as they are released.
  6. Conduct thorough audits of device configurations and logs to detect any signs of compromise.
  7. Employ multi-factor authentication and strong credential policies on device management interfaces to reduce the risk of privilege escalation.
  8. Prepare incident response plans specific to network device compromise scenarios to enable rapid containment and remediation.
