Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: CGM
Product: CGM CLININET

Description

CGM CLININET is vulnerable to Reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) due to improper neutralization of user-supplied data. A remote unauthenticated attacker can craft a malicious URL containing JavaScript or HTML code, which is executed in the victim's browser when the URL is visited, allowing the attacker to steal session cookies and perform actions on behalf of the victim within the application. The vulnerability was confirmed to affect versions up to 2026.MS3 but later versions may also be vulnerable.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2025-58403 is a reflected XSS vulnerability in CGM CLININET caused by improper neutralization of user-supplied data during web page generation. An attacker can exploit this by sending a malicious URL that executes script code in the victim's browser, enabling session cookie theft and unauthorized actions within the application. The vulnerability affects versions up to and including 2026.MS3. The product is cloud-hosted, and the vendor manages remediation.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation allows remote unauthenticated attackers to execute arbitrary JavaScript in the context of the victim's browser session. This can lead to session cookie theft and unauthorized actions performed on behalf of the victim within the CGM CLININET application. The CVSS 4.0 base score is 5.1 (medium severity), reflecting network attack vector, low complexity, no privileges required, and user interaction needed.

Mitigation Recommendations

A patch is available for this vulnerability. Since CGM CLININET is a cloud-hosted service, the vendor manages remediation server-side. Users should verify with the vendor that their instance is updated to a patched version beyond 2026.MS3 to mitigate this issue.
