Technical Analysis

The vulnerability in Vanderbilt Industries Acre Security SPC5300.000 Main Board v3.14.1 arises from improper handling of TCP FIN packets. The device fails to validate sequence and acknowledgment numbers when processing these packets, enabling an attacker with physical proximity to spoof TCP FIN packets and cause a denial of service condition. The CVSS v3.1 base score is 7.5, reflecting high severity due to the ease of network-based exploitation without privileges or user interaction and the impact limited to availability. There is no known exploit in the wild and no vendor advisory or patch information is provided at this time.

Potential Impact

An attacker physically near the vulnerable device can disrupt its availability by sending spoofed TCP FIN packets, causing a denial of service. There is no impact on confidentiality or integrity. The device may become unresponsive or fail to maintain network connections due to this attack.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, limit physical access to the device and monitor for unusual network disruptions. No official remediation or temporary fix has been published.
