What to do
AI-suggested
Organizations should immediately assess their deployment of the Shandong Kede Electronics IoT smart water meter monitoring platform and prioritize applying vendor patches once available. In the absence of patches, implement strict input validation and sanitization on all user-supplied data, especially parameters processed by imei_list.aspx. Employ web application firewalls (WAFs) configured to detect and block SQL injection attempts targeting this endpoint. Network segmentation should isolate IoT devices and their management platforms from critical enterprise networks to limit lateral movement. Regularly monitor logs for suspicious database queries or unusual activity related to the affected component. Conduct security audits and penetration testing focused on IoT infrastructure. Additionally, restrict access to the monitoring platform to trusted IP addresses and enforce strong authentication mechanisms where possible to reduce exposure.
Description
CVE-2025-63624 is a critical SQL Injection vulnerability found in the Shandong Kede Electronics Co. , Ltd IoT smart water meter monitoring platform version 1.0. The flaw exists in the imei_list.aspx file and allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code without authentication or user interaction. With a CVSS score of 9.8, this vulnerability impacts confidentiality, integrity, and availability severely. Exploitation could lead to full system compromise, data theft, or disruption of water meter monitoring services. Although no known exploits are currently in the wild, the vulnerability's nature and ease of exploitation make it a high-risk threat. European organizations using this platform or similar IoT water metering solutions should prioritize patching and implement strict input validation and network segmentation.
