AI-suggested
- Monitor official sources and the package repository for patches or updates addressing CVE-2025-65345 and apply them immediately upon release.
- Until patches are available, implement strict input validation and sanitization on all file and archive upload paths to prevent directory traversal sequences (e.g., '..', absolute paths).
- Configure the application to restrict archive extraction to a dedicated, sandboxed directory with minimal permissions, preventing access to sensitive system or application files.
- Employ web application firewalls (WAFs) with rules to detect and block suspicious archive uploads or path traversal attempts.
- Conduct regular security audits and penetration testing focusing on file upload and extraction functionalities.
- Educate developers and administrators about secure handling of file uploads and the risks of directory traversal.
- Limit the privileges of the web server process to the minimum necessary to reduce the impact of potential exploitation.
- Implement logging and alerting for unusual file system activities related to archive extraction.
