AI-suggested

To mitigate CVE-2025-65474, European organizations should implement the following specific measures: 1) Immediately restrict access to the /admin/manager.php interface using network-level controls such as IP whitelisting or VPNs to limit exposure. 2) Enforce strict file type validation on the server side to prevent renaming or uploading of executable files disguised as images, particularly ensuring that PHP files cannot be renamed to SVG or other image formats. 3) Apply the principle of least privilege by limiting user permissions for file management operations within EasyImages, ensuring only trusted administrators have rename capabilities. 4) Monitor file system changes and web server logs for suspicious rename activities or unexpected file extensions in image directories. 5) Deploy web application firewalls (WAFs) with custom rules to detect and block attempts to exploit this vulnerability. 6) Stay alert for vendor patches or updates addressing this issue and apply them promptly once available. 7) Conduct regular security audits and penetration tests focusing on file upload and rename functionalities. These targeted actions go beyond generic advice and directly address the vulnerability's exploitation vectors.

Description

An arbitrary file rename vulnerability in the /admin/manager.php component of EasyImages 2.0 v2.8.6 and below allows attackers to execute arbitrary code via renaming a PHP file to a SVG format.
