AI-suggested
A patch is available that disables AFBC support on the Mediatek MT8188 platform to prevent the issue. Users should apply the updated Linux kernel versions that include this fix. Until an upstream fix that properly supports AFBC on this platform is released, AFBC should remain disabled on affected devices.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's Mediatek DRM driver related to AFBC support on the Mediatek MT8188 platform has been resolved. The AFBC support introduced caused vblank timeouts and garbled rendering on this platform. The issue is addressed by disabling AFBC support on affected platforms until a proper fix is available upstream.
