AI-suggested
A patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions to resolve this vulnerability. The fix includes additional fragment count checks to prevent out-of-bounds writes. Users should update to the fixed kernel versions as provided by their Linux distribution vendors. No alternative mitigations are indicated.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's atlantic network driver allows an out-of-bounds write due to improper handling of packet fragments exceeding MAX_SKB_FRAGS. This can cause a kernel panic when processing large multi-descriptor packets. The issue has been fixed by adding checks to account for extra fragments and prevent overflow.
