AI-suggested
An official fix is available and should be applied by upgrading to patched Linux kernel versions at or beyond 5.15.0-1103.110~20.04.1 and related releases as listed. Users should consult their Linux distribution's security advisories and apply the kernel updates to remediate this issue.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's iio: accel: bmc150 driver caused a kernel NULL pointer dereference when the device had no interrupts. This was due to the driver unconditionally calling an interrupt setup function without checking for interrupt support. The issue has been fixed by storing the IRQ number in the driver's state and using it to determine interrupt support. This bug has existed since the driver’s inception but only recently manifested. Multiple affected Linux kernel versions prior to specific patched releases are noted.
