AI-suggested
A patch is available and included in Linux kernel updates starting from version 6.8.0-1061.64~22.04.1 and later. Users should update their Linux kernel to the fixed versions provided by their distribution, such as those listed in the Ubuntu security notices USN-8094-1 and USN-8094-2. After updating, a system reboot is required to apply the fixes. Due to ABI changes, recompilation and reinstallation of third-party kernel modules may be necessary.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel related to the platform/x86/amd/pmc subsystem was resolved, addressing issues with support for the Van Gogh SoC used in the ROG Xbox Ally (non-X) device. The device's lack of proper suspend handler causes it to fail to suspend and leads to AMD GPU driver crashes upon resume due to power hangs. This issue affects certain Linux kernel versions prior to 6.8.0-1061.64~22.04.1 and related builds. The vulnerability has been fixed in updated kernel releases.
