An official fix is available and should be applied. Users should update to patched Linux kernel versions as indicated by their distribution. After applying the update, a system reboot is required to complete remediation.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's inet fragment handling caused occasional deadlocks due to pending socket buffers not being flushed before connection tracking cleanup. This issue led to stuck tasks such as modprobe. The vulnerability was resolved by ensuring fragment queue socket buffers are flushed in the fqdir_pre_exit() function, preventing indefinite loops and deadlocks.
