What to do
AI-suggested
Until a patch is available, cautious use of ksmbd or disabling it if not needed may reduce exposure.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's ksmbd component related to buffer validation in the smb2_set_ea function has been resolved. The issue involved incorrect buffer size checks that omitted the null terminator byte for Extended Attribute (EA) names. This could lead to improper validation of buffer sizes when handling EA data.
